Adhesives

Some applications are too specific for standard adhesives. At Profecta labels, we work closely with our network of suppliers to find the right solution for every need.

Commonly used adhesives on the market

Extra-permanent: A special purpose permanent rubber base adhesive. Features high initial tack and outstanding adhesion in difficult labelling applications. Effective adhesion for hard to label surfaces.

Permanent: Strong permanent adhesive for general use in product and information labelling. Very good adhesion on a wide variety of substrates.

Repositionable: pressure sensitive adhesives constructed with an adhesive coating that enables a label to be removed and then repositioned within a short, finite, period of time after application. ie; post it type

Semi-permanent: are adhesives that remain removable and re-positionable for some time after application before becoming fully permanent. Often used where the pack to be labelled is of an irregular shape and an operator needs to re-position labels that have been applied off- centre.

Removable:  an adhesive with a low ultimate adhesion to a range of surfaces which can generally be removed or peeled off intact.

Low temperature (freezer) an adhesive which is designed to give good adhesion on a cold or frozen substrate. An adhesive which can be applied at and function at temperatures below freezing point. Some can perform down to -50C.

Washable; permanent adhesive specially developed for application to moist surfaces (wine labels). Can be easily removed using luke-warm water.
